Will you be a Fruit Picker, a Westminster Ranger or our new Admin Manager?

Hello Reader

We hope that your new year has got off to a good start so far. For our first newsletter of 2026 we’re excited to share three new opportunities to get involved in growing a greener, healthier city.

We’re currently looking for two groups of inspiring volunteers to join us as London Fruit Harvest Coordinator's and for Ranger's in the Borough Westminster, as well as welcoming applications for our new paid staff role of Administration Manager. Whether you’re keen to roll up your sleeves or bring your skills behind the scenes, there’s a place for you in our community this year.

Could you be a London Fruit Harvest Coordinator?

Every year London quietly produces an orchard’s worth of fruit. Too much of it drops, bruises, and disappears into the compost heap. In 2025 three fruit picking groups alone harvested over 7 tonnes of fruit that they donated to food banks and schools, and made into chutney and juice and shared it at community events.

Could you help save the fruit and feed your neighbours? We are looking for folks who want to lead picking groups in their neighbourhoods - you might already be part of a community group and want to add this to their activities, or you may want to set up something new.

You will be guided and coached by our fruit picking expert who is leading this project - Ranger Michael Stuart from Kensal to Kilburn Fruit Harvesters, and London National Park City will provide you with tools and resources.

If you're interested in finding out more then sign up below and attend our upcoming webinar to find out how to get involved or apply to be a coordinator.

Volunteer Ranger applications are open in Westminster

Ranger applications are open in Westminster! Rangers play an active role in making our neighbourhoods greener, wilder and more biodiverse. As part of the Ranger community, you’ll be supported to take part in – or lead – your own projects that help make London greener, healthier and wilder.

Deadline to apply is Tuesday 3rd March.

We offer training, resources, practical advice, and access to funding for small projects that you lead or support. You’ll also be part of a wider, active network of Rangers across London. (If you are based elsewhere in London you can register your interest here.)

JOB: Could you be our next Administration Manager?

We are looking for an organised and adaptable Administration Manager to join our small staff team - DEADLINE is midday Monday 2nd February.

This permanent role is essential to strengthening the infrastructure that enables our volunteer Ranger community and partner groups to make neighbourhoods across London greener, healthier and wilder.

You'll be the operational backbone of our organisation – managing our CRM and internal systems, maintaining policies and procedures, and ensuring our staff and 150+ volunteer Rangers are well supported.

Warm wishes

Becky Daniels
